How should Ritalin be used?
Ritalin tablets should be taken by mouth with water or between meals.
Since it can cause insomnia in some people – unless the doctor recommends otherwise – the last dose should be taken before 18:00.
A double dose should not be taken to make up for the missed dose.
The drug should not be taken in more or less doses than recommended and should not be used for a longer period of time. If the effect is thought to be too strong or weak, a doctor should be consulted.
If the doctor gives a drug vacation for 1-2 days a week (usually on weekends), the drug should be interrupted during this period.
Ritalin should be used with extreme caution. Therefore, parents and adult patients should follow the doctor’s instructions exactly.
